Charity pull at Ellesmere

THE National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port is set for a packed Saturday this weekend.

30th July will see the museum visited by the Cheshire Wildlife Trust who will be bringing a selection of crafts, games, information and lectures, and even have a few animals with it to show off.

Raise money

But the big event will be a charity boat pull that will be leaving the museum in the morning as a group of muscle bound lads from 234 (Wirral) Transport Squadron RLC(V) will be hauling one of the museum's boats to Chester and back to raise money for forces charities and Claire House hospice.

The boat pull will consist of eight miles to Chester and another eight miles on the way back, collecting cash along the way as well as donations.

Of the events, Marketing Manager Oliver Briscoe tells us:

"This weekend will be a great kick start to the summer holidays here at the museum. There's plenty going on for all ages to get involved with, as well as our fantastic selection of waterways history in the museum."
