Facilities for Ware

WARE Town Council is making money available to create new sanitary facilities on the Lee Navigation in the town.

Readers will be aware of the problems with such facilities on the waterway, and now the council has arranged to meet with British Waterways to choose a suitable site.

Encourage boaters

Members of the council believe that creating such facilities will encourage boaters to visit the town, rather than just pass through, as moorings will be made available.

Councillor George Powell complained:

"With regards to the chaos to do with the Olympics, British Waterways should be the ones to pay for it seeing the grief they are causing us."

Ware Town Council however is willing to pay for the facilities, expected to cost between £10,000 and £20,000.
