Russell Newbery sold

THE company that makes the much sought after Russell Newbery boat engines has been sold, but it is not the end for the engine.

The company has been bought by Bixters, owners of Grantham Bridge Services at Hillmorton and the Willow Wren hire fleet in Rugby, so the engine will still be manufactured.

Servicing and repairs

It will undertake all aspects of installation and even modifying existing engines, as well as servicing and repairs.

The company is working on bringing the price of new engines down, with already huge reductions of the cost of a new DM2, and making it more competitive against the modern power plant.

Five years warranty

In addition, we are told the new engines will come with a five years warranty, and hope to once again make it a popular choice for boats, and so break the run of no engines whatsoever being sold this year.

To publicise the Russell Newbery, a showroom is to be opened at Hillmorton with demonstration facilities.
