The first two articles of the 1st June highlight the state of social awareness and apathy that permeates society in all walks of life, writes Martin Howes.

With regard to the cyclist knocked off her bike by another cyclist, whilst one can have sympathy for her, but also wonder about karma and how considerate she is when traversing the towpath.

From what I've seen in cities and busy towns, little consideration is shown by cyclists to other towpath users, especially the young and old who may be a little unsteady and/or hard of hearing.

As regards Llangollen, the problems there are mirrored in any tourist attraction in good weather, like the slurry attracted parking in the Lake District.
