A NUMBER OF CLOSED CANALS have now been reopened.
The Shropshire Union Canal that was closed at Wheaton Aston Lock due to a gate liner problem and has now been reopened.
With the team having sorted the problem.
Lee Navigation
Tottenham Lock 17 on the Lee Navigation is now open again.
But the powered offside sluice is currently out of service, meaning that lock filling times will be longer than usual.
Llangollen Canal
The repair to Wrenbury Bridge 20 on the Llangollen Canal has been successful and the navigation resumed.
It was a vehicle strike that closed the bridge.
Stainforth & Keadby Canal
A vehicle strike also closed the Godnow Swing Bridge on the Stainforth & Keadby Canal.
Repairs to the bridge have now been completed and navigation reopened.
Worcester Birmingham Canal
And yet another bridge closed by a vehicle strike to the road barriers. This time Shirley Draw Bridge 8.
However a team was on site at 9am and 3pm to manually operate the bridge, but the repair is now completed.
