MY WIFE and I are considering a journey on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, writes John Belfrey.
Were disappointed
So we took a look and walked the canal paths finding out what it was all about and were disappointed at what we were told, from the people on boats, one telling us to look at your site 'and you will find out', said he.
I should add that we want to travel the Leeds & Liverpool Canal as we have relations along its way and could pick them up to give them a treat.
This morning [Friday] I looked at your site and did as the man had told me and saw the host of times boats are stopped on this canal and for such as weeks at a time and so many of them, and looking at the map I have purchased, the fortnight we planned is a non-starter. I cannot understand how people managed to avoid the parts that are closed, as so many. So it will have to be another canal, as we both want to try it.
Warns of stoppages
I was told by one man I met who writes for you, to write myself, as you are the one that points out these things and so warns people of the stoppages.
Thank-you if you do include, as I agree that people should be warned. [Sorry, but do not include self-praise so your following sentence is omitted—Editor.]
