THAT is the question asked by our Keith Gudgin on the latest stoppage notice from Canal & River Trust.

There is a problem with Ramsden Lock (14E) on the Huddersfield Narrow—'the paddle head has blown'!

Yes, still another Cartism—the word we use to describe the weird and wonderful descriptions now being foisted upon us by CaRT that no one can understand.

First is was 'stop plank stops grooves blowing' and now its 'paddle heads blowing—what on earth are they on about?

Like, we expect others, we do not really know the cause of the stoppage, but one thing that is clear is that the navigation will be closed until January before it is repaired.
