WRG canal camps
Altogether there are 23 camps planned for next year, that are unique week-long residential volunteering opportunities, designed to restore the derelict canals of England and Wales. The picture shows the volunteers at the Chesterfield Canal.
Get involved
The camps enable people to get involved in various activities ranging from the reprofiling and lining of the Lancaster Canal, to the restoration of damaged brickwork on the Swansea Canal; or the rebuilding of towpaths on the Chelmer and Blackwater to the construction of a new lock on the Chesterfield Canal.
There are still two working holidays running this Christmas on the Uttoxeter Canal and on the Cotswold Canals from the 26th December 2012 to 1st January 2013.
