Make your own fenders

HERE'S a chance for boaters to save themselves money, by learning how to make their own boat fenders.

 

A fender making course is taking place on Saturday 19th November and Sunday 20th November at the National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port,  by renowned expert Dave Walker.

Includes everything

During the weekend students can make a couple of side fenders, a short button, a deck matt and have a go at splicing mooring lines. The two day course costs £65 per person—which includes all the materials needed to make the fenders, the matt and the turks-heads, plus museum entry.

Roses and Castles

And the museum also has a Roses and Castles course with expert Phil Speight, who will be visiting the museum for a two day Roses and Castles painting course on Saturday 26th November and Sunday 27th November.

The two day course costs £100 per person. Trays, brushes and materials are all provided and the ticket includes weekend museum admission.
