Email: Not for the faint-hearted

Victor seems to have made heavy weather of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, and I agree that it isn't for the faint-hearted.

Those who like leisurely boating should keep well away. I came over it in April, my seventh traverse, but the first entirely single handed, only the second boat over this year.

A bonus was being stuck in Marsden for four days because of low water levels in the tunnel (a paddle had jammed and allowed an overnight leak), as previously I've only had one evening to sample the delights (i.e. pubs) of this attractive village. Lets hope that this unique waterway continues to provide a challenge.
