Still waiting for repair

IT SEEMS that a Leeds & Liverpool Canal retaining wall rebuilt six years ago was not up to standard, as it has collapsed with the rubble falling into Jez Dowthwaite's back yard.

It wrecked patio furniture and a fence, when it collapsed last month, but Jez is still waiting for it to be repaired, Allan Richards tells us.

No breach

Luckily the canal held, with no breach, but there is the worry that this could happen if not quickly repaired.

Perhaps the mention of a water vole in residence could get results...
