Wide beam curb at Crick

WIDE beam boats are being severely restricted from passing through Crick Tunnel, with no week-end passage whatsoever.

Canal & River Trust are advising wide beam owners wishing to travel through the tunnel that they can only do so at 8am on week-day mornings, Roger Fox tells us.

Bookings will have to be made 48 hours in advance, and should a boater with a wide beam arrive without a booking he or she will have to wait for the following day.

However, as both ends of the pound at Foxton and Watford are narrow locks, we shouldn't think there will be a great demand, and don't really see the point...
