Email: The cheek of it!

When I read your story of CaRT wanting people to pay for the breaches on the Trent & Mersey I had to look at the calendar to make sure it wasn't 1st April.

The cheek of it! Here are the people running CaRT creaming off millions in salaries, bonuses and pensions asking us boaters to fork out money to pay for a breach that is their own fault. It is beyond belief.

Haven't they the sense to realise that when they took away all those people who look after the canals something would be forced to happen, for as Victor says a canal can't look after itself.

Then having the sheer audacity to ask the public to pay.  Anyway, what is that contingency fund for anyway?  For some other crack-pot scheme I warrant!
