Quarter of a million

Published: Monday, 01 October 2012

FOR the first time our server has registered over quarter of a million visits to narrowboatworld within a month—253,853 within September.

This is not the actual figure (automated from our server below the right-hand column) as it tells that its analyticals are unable to calculate and verify every visit to the site, suggesting somewhere in the region of a 10% error, thus giving a more accurate total of 279,248 visits in September.

Appreciated

It shows the popularity of narrowboatworld, and particularly that our 'telling it like it is' is appreciated by its readers.  And of course we have by far the best writers of any waterways publication—unfettered by the normal editorial restrictions.

We appreciate both the effort of these writers and of course the support of you readers.

Advertising

Perhaps here we should again point out, that though we are continuously asked, we do not accept any advertising.  The Google adverts simply serve the purpose of helping defray the cost of the site, and at the same time give it a high ranking on Google pages.  We do not wish to make profit, only to give a service to the boaters and help the waterways.

At this time narrowboatworld contains nearly 5,000 pages (this article is number 4922) plus the past pages of the Forum with all available by the Search facility.
