Walkers to help restoration

WITH the Wendover Arm Trust losing out on its big fund raising Wendover Festival this year, it is organising a sponsored walk to raise funds towards its further restoration.

Already over 100 people have signed up for the 6.5 miles walk from Wendover to Bulbourne, but the Trust is hoping for many more, as it will be its only big source of income, Alan Tilbury reveals.  (The photograph shows a bridge restored over the Arm by the Trust.)

Along towpath

The Walk an Arm's Length will take place on Saturday 2nd September, along the towpath of the partly restored waterway that joins the Grand Union Canal at Bulbourne.

There is a £10 registrations fee, meaning that for every 100 people who sign up, this alone would raise £1,000, before sponsorship money.

Shuttle

There will be boat trips and other activities on the day, with a shuttle bus between the two destinations.
