Email: Lack of mooring

Published: Wednesday, 15 August 2012

Have just come up the Droitwich from the river end, and I am very impressed with the canal and the work that has been done.

But, I fear for the future of the canal due to the lack of mooring along the way. Coming down from Stourport and then having to do eight double locks with no mooring in between is certainly going to put a lot of people off.

Luckily we found space in the basin to break the journey up, but the canal is in danger of becoming a novelty, that boaters will only do once and then forget about.

I appreciate the need to encourage wildlife, but the reed beds all the way are over the top and I would encourage the Trust to make some moorings along the way.
