Saved boat from sinking

FIRE FIGHTERS saved a narrowboat from sinking, as it filled with water whilst moored on the Staffs & Worcs Canal in Stourport.

The boat was moored outside the Black Star Inn when it was seen to be getting lower and lower in the water, and the fire brigade was called.

The boat was found in an unstable condition with water inside, and the fire fighters spent just under an hour pumping out the water, with marine engineers called to investigate the reason.
