Summit reservoirs full

Published: Friday, 08 June 2012

THE reservoirs serving the Tring summit on the Grand Union Canal, as can be expected after so much rain, are now full.

Though the whole waterway is open, the Wendover Arm is still closed, with tape across its entrance, and lock restrictions are still in force according to Waterscape. The photograph shows Wilstone Reservoir that is overflowing.

President

Our man on the spot tells us that there are very few boats about, and though the steam powered President was due to pass through Bulbourne yesterday after her appearance on the Jubilee Pageant, she had still not appeared by noon today (Friday).

Tringford Reservoir too, photographed this morning is overflowing, as is the same with Marsworth Reservoir shown below.  Certainly no water shortage for the Grand Union Canal!
