Completely lost the plot

WHEN I first saw the picture of the RSJ that had been installed at neck height on the Staffs & Worcs lock, I thought it must be a mistake, writes James Henry.

But then thinking of the other stupid things British Waterways have done over the years with our money, I realised it was possible that it would put the rush for bridge hand rails before boaters interests.  But didn't anybody actually go to the lock and see how dangerous that RSJ is being set so low down?

Dangerous

It is making a dangerous heath and safety problem out of a completely unnecessary health and safety problem.  Just how stupid it that?  But of course, once again, it is only boaters who will be hurt, we must protect stupid kids who are unable to look after their own safety.

I have just sent a link of your story to my MP who incidentally covers a canal area and asked that he gives the waterway minister his own views on this very dangerous matter, and suggest other boaters who value their safety to do the same.
