Cam Conservators oust Mr Asbo

THE swan, who so upset the rowers on the Cam in Cambridge, named Mr. Asbo, because of his aggressive nature, is most likely to be ousted from the river.

The Cam Conservators are awaiting the decision of English Nature that will allow them to move the swan and his mate over 50 miles away from the Cam, to a secret destination. Alan Tilbury tells us.

Protective

Users of the river, particularly the rowers, have been fighting for years to get the swan moved away from the river, as it is very protective of his young families, and attacks rowers when near, more so after his cygnets have been killed by the oars of the rowers.

However, the swan certainly has its local support, with many people feeling it is a natural part of the river, and that English Nature should be looking after its nature, as it is supposed to, and not the rowers, who were once called 'Little Jessies'.

The pair are being moved over 50 miles away as it is thought that any distance lesser than this would allow them to find there way back 'home'.
