Confusing spending with costs

The point is the National Association of Boat Owners is confusing spending with costs [Little increase in boating costs—NABO] writes Ralph Freeman.

Whilst it may be true that the average boater is not spending any more this year on boating, costs are of course rising. The reason boaters may be only spending the same as last year on boating, could well be they don't have any more money to spend!

Buy/consume less

If you are on a fixed income spending has to remain the same give or take. If costs rise you simply have to buy/consume less. As they say it's not rocket science.

It's worrying when organisations release information that makes them look stupid. What is going on? Does nobody check, or more likely nobody dare criticise?
