Email: Sanitary stations

Published: Thursday, 28 July 2011
I wonder if our friend Victor has noticed the recent spate of stoppage notices about sanitary stations? This afternoon we have one announcing the toilet facility at Bishops Meadow has had to be re-closed until further notice due to problems with the cesspit.

It was closed last week for the same reason—surely there are not too many things to go wrong with a cesspit, one of the beauties of the design.

After the fiasco at Wheaton Aston with a cracked pipe (just how much did that cost to sort out?) there are the temporary changes at Marple and Whaley Bridge (sewage works problems) and examples of major vandalism in Birmingham and Atherstone.

Perhaps all of these are examples of where regular local staff would have spotted problems before there was a crisis, and put off vandals by their presence?
