Another leak found on the Macclesfield Canal

WORK has been progressing well on the culvert south of Bridge 87 on the Macclesfield Canal.

But alas a further leak from the waterway has been discovered by the site of the culvert, that is expected to lengthen the stoppage.

Started repair work

Contractors started with the repair work to the damaged culvert over last weekend with Canal & River Trust telling works progressed with the void on the towpath repaired.

Following which contractors completed the repair work to the canal bed, which is being tested this week.

The canal and towpath will remain closed between Kent Green Bridge (87) and Morris Bridge (89).
