Your report on overstaying boats at Gunthorpe raises the question as to whether the enforcement officer concerned is applying the rules impartially or showing favouritism to a few boaters whilst harassing others.

I believe the same officer was responsible some while ago for forcing a couple on the two day mooring at Farndon a few miles away to move on, despite the fact that the river was in flood at the time and unsafe for navigation.

Unless the rules are applied fairly to all boats, and discretion exercised in cases where overstaying may be necessary, the whole system will fall into disrepute and will simply cause animosity between genuine boaters and the CaRT management.
