Paying boat licence a scam or fraudulent transaction!

THIS is actually what happened earlier Wednesday, writes Ralph Freeman.

My Licence runs out the end of April, so I went on-line to renew it.

May be a scam

All went well until it came to payment then my bank refused payment on the grounds the payment of almost £1,160 may be a scam or even a fraudulent transaction?

Oh the irony! I had to make a phone call to the bank's fraud department to try and convince them that the CaRT is a bona fide company so they would clear the transaction.

Personally I have my doubts as year on year, the more I pay, the less CaRT appears to do with respect to canal maintenance. (See the list of stoppages for 2023 for proof).
