Trent & Mersey open

AFTER the 'leak' from the Trent & Mersey Canal at Dutton that required major works, the waterway is now open to navigation.

It was a 'leak' between the original work of repairing a former breach and the bank where the leak appeared, but this has now been dealt with, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Other work

After the work was completed, other work including piling and back-fill was undertaken, resulting in the waterway remaining closed until all was completed.
