Droitwich opens Friday

THE Droitwich Barge Canal that was closed during January owning to a leak at a culvert, will reopen this coming Friday, 13th February.

 

Repairs were required to a box culvert that was allowing the water to leak away, with the pound between locks 3 and 4 having to be drained, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Extended repairs

Though it was first expected to be reopened quite quickly this was not possible owing to the extended repairs that were needed, but we are told the pound will be re-filled with the waterway open again on Friday, though a time has not been given.
