Emma's Dream

Published: Monday, 20 October 2014

I FOUNDED Emma's Dream in memory of my beautiful daughter Emma Kathryn, who in September 2010 I found hanging in my previous home bedroom, writes Julia Okeefe.

Emma was only 19 years old when she took her own life whilst awaiting an assessment for the bi polar disorder.

Buy a narrowboat

Now in Emma's memory I am campaigning to make mental health problems especially for our youngsters made more aware of. I am also fundraising to buy a narrowboat for teenagers and young adults with mental health problems.

The boat will be named Emma's Dream, a place of safety, peace and tranquillity away from the stresses of life our youngsters suffering with mental health problems struggle to deal with every day.

Help other youngsters

Although my little Emma is in heaven now I want Emma's memory to help other youngsters. I am getting the most wonderful support and at last people are listening to me. I never stop campaigning and have done numerous newspaper interviews and radio station interviews.

I am asking if you could offer Emma's Dream some support please? Emma's Dream charity page is on Facebook, please take a look. I really do hope people can offer me and Emma's Dream some support.
