Money for the locks

OVER £5 millions is to be spent between November and March on maintenance and upgrading facilities of the locks on a single waterway—not BW locks however.

The Environment Agency is spending the money mostly on facilities at the locks on the Thames, with nearly £2 millions being spent on new lock gates.

Altogether 10 of the river's locks will be temporarily closed for the work to be undertaken between this November and March next year.

Other improvements include installing new boater facilities at Mapledurham Lock including a pump-out, a chemical toilet disposal facility and water.
