Free market

THIS gentleman [Paul Lillie of Pillings Lock Marina] has complained that boats are leaving his marina to continuously cruise, within CaRT's regulations obviously, writes Martin Brooks.

 

This is the free market, customers are entitled to choose. Does Mr Lillie expect enforcement officers to harass law abiding boaters into using his services? It is not the job of CaRT to influence people's choice in that way.

Royally screwed

Apart from that, I agree he has been royally screwed by CaRT, but when you grab a tiger by the tail etc!

I have no doubt that his complaint of the lack of a level playing field between himself and BWML is a genuine one, but a canny businessman would surely have investigated the trustworthiness of any potential associate, and in this case found it non existent!

Sorry Paul, but you were sold a dud and you bought it! Businesses can succeed or fail, no one is entitled to get rich!
