Pilling's side of the story.

AFTER your rather damming article on 24th Feb 2014 (Pillings is to blame) perhaps you might like to consider our side of the story? Asks Paul Lillie, Managing Director Pillings Lock Marina Ltd:

How we have tried to renegotiate a better agreement for five years and the fact that most BWML Marinas do not pay Network Access Agreement (NAA) fees at all!

Others don't pay fees

Fair Trading Code of Practice from CaRT? I don't think so! It is our main competitor and favourable trading terms.

Other marinas also pay no NAA fees in this area.

A level playing field is a must in a market that has become so very competitive—look at the failed planning application for Redhill Marina yesterday—it shows that even the Planners can see the market is over subscribed by empty marina berths. Yet you state that CaRT 'Have done nothing wrong'—how can this be? They are charging us for empty berths whilst the towpath is free and 20% of the boats are on it!
