Hoping for better festival

AFTER being virtually rained-off last year, the organisers of Evesham River Festival are hoping for better luck this year.

The theme is fairy tales, with events and boats having a fairy tale theme, and there is still time for boats to register to take part in the event, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Entertainment

It all takes place on the Avon at Evesham on Saturday and Sunday the 13th and 14th of July. with the usual live music, craft stalls and a food village together with boat demonstrations and of course a beer tent, finishing with a fireworks extravaganza.

The highlights include a Battle of Britain Dakota Flypast and the now famous illuminated boat parade, with free entry.

To enable the boats to moor, dredging has been funded by Evesham Market Town Partnership along the river, clearing debris and deepening a one and a half mile stretch along the river.
