Sail-thru chippy

THE proposed McDonald's by the side of the Stratford Canal in Stratford-on-Avon will have to work hard to keep up with McMonagle's at Clydebank, Richard Davies tells us.

For it is the world's first 'sail-thru' fish and chip outlet, moored on the Forth & Clyde Canal at Clydebank.

World class

McMonagle's boat, permanently docked on the Forth & Clyde Canal in the heart of Clydebank, is recognised as a world class fish & chip restaurant, having a formal dining area in the boat, accessed from the bank with a takeaway accessed from the waterway on its opposite side. With both formal dinning upstairs and casual seating outside.

Its popularity can be seen by the queue of boats on the canal with their crews waiting to be served.
