Cruiser sinks in Humber

OVER the weekend a cabin cruiser hit a river buoy in the Humber holing the boat that immediately started to sink.

This was the buoy between Hull Marina and the Humber Bridge, but the steerer was able to send out a distress call that was immediately acknowledged by Humber Rescue, Mick Fitzgibbons tells us.

The team rescued two people from the sinking Sea Eagle, that had a 'significant' hole in its hull.

The two were taken to hospital together with a member of the rescue boat who hurt his shoulder during the rescue operation.
