THE charity boat The Hargreaves belonging to the the Hargreaves Narrowboat Trust, has been given a make-over for the new season.

The Trust, which gives elderly people and youngsters the chance to cruise the Coventry Canal in the narrowboat, invited its volunteers to a party to celebrate its upgrade, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Entertainment

The party was to mark the recent work on the boat, that is operated from Boot Wharf in Nuneaton, and there was a buffet and entertainment to be enjoyed.

Both the exterior and interior of the boat have been repainted with various repairs undertaken and the hull re-blacked.

Starts this month

The work was done in the winter in order to have it completed for the new season, that starts this month, and to plan the trips.

The narrowboat has a designated disabled access wharf by Bridge 20 on the Coventry Canal where trips start and end and it is equipped with ramps on both sides, a large open front deck with screens for safety, and a ramped corridor into the cabin for easy wheelchair access and to ensure that no one has to miss out on the experience of travelling on the boat.
