Pylon route stops marina

PLANS to route a line of electricity near Oswestry through a proposed new marina means that its construction is now on hold.

The proposed marina on the Montgomery Canal is in the path of the line of pylons that are being erected to feed power from a wind farm into the National Grid, Alan Tilbury reveals.

The marina planned by Morris Leisure is near the Queens Head pub, where they have purchased the land, with its director Edward Goddard explaining:

"We are just waiting to find out what's happening with the pylons because the site is within the proposed corridor. Everything is on hold. We haven't moved forward."

Morris Leisure owns five caravan parks but are branching out into the marina business, believing it a good business.

However, the actual route of the pylons has not yet been decided.
