No power during flood

THE people pushing the building of hydro-power on the rivers have had to admit that they do not work when water levels are high.

Though it is thought that the more water coming down river the more power would be generated, this is not so, as the plants do not work in high water levels.

No power

It seems that water has to be at a certain level for the plant to operate, with a spokesman for Bedford Borough Council's hydro-power plant on the river confirming what people have been reporting, that no power has been generated for over a week.

People have been reporting that the plant had shut down, and were surprised to learn that when the water reaches a certain high level the plants automatically shuts down, and with the river being in flood for over a week, no power has been generated.
