Girl jumped in canal to escape attacker

A 15 YEARS old girl, grabbed by an attacker on the Union Canal towpath  in Edinburgh jumped into the canal to escape.

The only way she could escape the alleged sex attack was by jumping into the waterway, and staying there until the man ran off, Alan Tilbury reveals.

Arrested and charged

The man had grabbed her from behind but she struggled free before jumping into the water. After the man ran off she rang the police on her mobile, with the result that an 18 years old man was subsequently arrested and charged over the attack.
