Email: Not demeaning

I was open-mouthed at the comments from Peter Hoggins, who seems to think that litter picking is demeaning. Who does he think he is? People who clean and sweep up after others are human beings worthy of respect too! There is nothing more honourable than having respect for your environment enough that you pick up litter. I am grateful to everyone who does their bit up here in Tottenham, otherwise we would be mooring in a hell-hole.

Special mention goes to a continuous crusier who moored opposite us last summer and (I counted) picked seven bin bags of litter from the bushes down the towpath. Thank you.
