Flood victim's boat raided

THE owner of the narrowboat that was stranded on the flooded Avon in Tewkesbury, returned to his boat to find thieves had broken into it, stolen items and trashed it.

After being stranded in the flood for days, Philip Morris left his boat to stay with relatives to recover from his ordeal that left him needing medical treatment for food poisoning and dehydration.

Ransacked

But upon returning he discovered his boat had been broken into, his provisions ransacked and anything of any value stolen.  Even his bed had been used.

It was in July when he was caught on the flooded Avon, but held out as long as he could before being eventually rescued.
