Badgers prevent reservoir filling

WITH most of the reservoirs now fairly full, it seems the continuing restrictions on the Oxford Canal can be blamed on badgers!

Badgers have settled in a watercourse connecting Boddington Reservoir, and of course they cannot be swamped by water, so the restrictions carry on with the locks chained up during certain hours.

Settled

The badgers settled into their new home whilst the watercourse was dry, but now there is water, to prevent the badgers being disturbed it is being diverted, for no one is able to find a way to rehouse the badgers.

The strange thing is that it was only late last year that there was a call to cull badgers.
