Old dock could be marina

CODY Dock on the  Lee & Stort Navigations could become a marina if a partnership gets its way.

The charity Gasworks Dock Partnership, is raising money for the scheme that will  have ‘several dozen' berths at the dock that is between Canary Wharf and the Olympic Park, but has been cut off for years.

The scheme for the 2.5 acres site would start a regeneration in the area, with actor David Suchet, a dedicated worker for various restorations, involved, together with comedian Andi Orshi and singer Billy Bragg, who's grandfather actually worked on the dock before it was closed in the early sixties.

Over £56,000 has already been raised but £83,000 is still needed for the project.
