Waterwheel restored
Published: Friday, 13 April 2012
THE waterwheel at Woodford Mill on the Nene has been restored to working order by its owner Clive Hodgson-Jones.
Clive is restoring the structure, and has now opened a tea room in the mill, that he purchased around seven years ago, with the waterwheel supplying power, Alan Tilbury tells us.
Holiday flats
To make it into a business, two holiday flats have been included, that are near completion, with others planned for the future.
The nearby marina has also been taken over by Clive, who is also providing a narrowboat for hire.
Two waterwheels
There were originally two waterwheels at the mill, and there are plans to get the other working too, that should be in use by the end of this year.
To help with the restoration, a £200,000 grant was received from the Rural Development Programme for England.
