Gifts for boat restoration

AN EX boater has given items from her former boat to help furnish a vintage working boat that is being restored.

Jean Percival has now left the waterways, but before giving up her narrowboat has donated such as lace plates, curtains, rugs and cans to furnish the ex working boat Bramble that is being restored by Stourport Forward.

More authentic

The lace plates and other items she believes will make the back cabin of Bramble look more authentic, and in keeping with the age of the boat.

Jean tells that the rag rugs were made by a boat woman who lived on a working boat, and made rugs as a sideline.

When the restoration of Bramble is complete, it will be moored at Stourport Basin, and used to show children about the life of those working the waterways in the past.
