Litter boat sinks

A LITTER boat, in the form of a dredger was commissioned to clear the rubbish that was discarded around the Watersports Centre and Lowry Outlet Mall area of Salford Quays, has sunk!

The boat, that was provided by Peel Holdings in an attempt to move all the rubbish, sprang a leak and slowly disappeared  beneath the deep waters of the quay, with much of its contained rubbish floating to the surface, Alan Tilbury reveals.

Littered again

Both the area near the water and the water itself is again littered with rubbish, with strong winds blowing it by the BBC's new headquarters.

Peel Holdings is now attempting to clear all the quays, without a boat, and have employed a further contractor for the purpose, using 'alternative methods to clear the backlog, which is quite considerable'.

This is the the second time in just a few months that there has been problems with rubbish, with residents now considering clubbing together to make sure it 'stays clean for good' having lost all faith in Peel Holdings.
