Dilapidated boats

THERE is a demand from householders living by the Cam in Cambridge to clear the dilapidated boats that line the banks of the river.

One householder calls the river a disgrace, stating it is badly  spoilt by unoccupied and poorly maintained boats, fronted by battered poorly-maintained railings and by a plethora of parked vehicles.

Blue plastic

The boats are a mixture of cruisers and narrowboats, many having blue plastic draped across them, that make them so unsightly to the local residents, and with narrowboats 'piled high with junk on their roofs'.

An attempt is to be made to get them removed.
