Hanging on

THE Waterscape Facebook is an easy way of getting in touch with British Waterways—but it's somewhat unreliable, with one boater 'hanging-on' for 33 days!

Joe Prentice of Worcester is claiming a new record for Waterscape facebook group, for Joe has been trying to contact British Waterways for a staggering 33 days by phone and email without success.

New record

Joe hit on the novel idea of using the facebook group to express his frustrations posting 'New record 30 days of phone calls [to] auto reply systems [with] still not one adviser available. Emails unanswered. Is anyone in at all?'.

It seems that nobody was in! Three days later he posted it was then 33 days without a real person answering British Waterways phones.

Allan Richards

But narrowboatworld's Allan Richards, decided to come to Joe's rescue posting 'BW's marketing director Simon Salem is responsible customer service. I will send you his contact details'.

Within minutes British Waterways' Pricilla McClay posted 'What are you getting in touch about?'

However, after 33 days of hanging on the phone we wonder if Joe is able to remember!
