ONLY ONE PUPPY SURVIVED of the three that had been dumped in a wet box on a towpath.

Taken to a shelter

The three were discovered and taken to shelter, Janet Friend reports.

It was at Christmas that the three dachshund puppies were discovered in a terrible state cramped in a wet cardboard box, on the Wolverhampton Level towpath.

Walkers went by, obviously thinking it was an empty box that had been discarded, but one heard a feint whimper and investigated and discovered the three puppies.

Even though the rescue people did all they could, two of them died, with just the one, that they named Comet, surviving and doing very well, with the rescuers at Ravens Rescue telling it is making fantastic progress and is gaining weight.

Already dead

When brought in one puppy was already dead and another, they named named Vixen, died shortly after they were taken to the charity.

Comet is being looked after by a foster family with the possibly of being available for adoption. There is an appeal for anyone who may know who dumped the dogs to contact the rescue people.
