Further request

Then on the 10th there was a further request from the police to extend this stoppage to Common Moor Lock 79, with the trust's team on site.

Then on the same day due to the ongoing investigation the canal and towpath were closed from Lock 78 until further notice.

Today, 12th December, the stoppage was still further extended to include Lock 77  'until further notice'.

Boaters are unable to operate the paddles or gates as these have all been chained shut. There is no intimation if this stoppage will be further extended or when it will be ended.
