River navigations affected by floods

Locks on the Soar and Aire are closed through silt and debris brought down by the recent floods, and now comes another such situation.

This time it is Woolhampton Lock (94) on the Kennet & Avon that has suffered with silt forming a significant bar across the channel, Keith Gudgin reports.

Unnavigable

This has made this section unnavigable, the trust tells.

But it is engaging with contractors to have the obstruction dredged as soon as is practicable.
